Wind Waker and Metroid Prime Nintendo Direct Reportedly Still Coming Next Week

An expected September direct from nintendo It will reportedly take place early next week and could include Zelda and Metroid Prime announcements.

That’s according to giant bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, who had previously reported that a company showcase would come in the week of September 12, but then reclaimed after the death of Queen Elizabeth II that the world news could see Nintendo‘s plans rescheduled.

However, speaking on a live stream this weekend, Grubb said that despite Nintendo letting its development partners know there might be a delay in scheduling, it now appears that there isn’t.

And with third party developers probably looking to make their announcements sooner Tokyo game show on Thursday, the Direct may take place earlier in the week than usual, Grubb speculated.

“At this point I’m sick of talking about it, I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing it, we just want it to be announced. When will they do that? It looks like early next week, and then the Direct itself could happen earlier in the week than it normally does,” Grubb said.

“Usually they have Direct on Thursdays, but [this week] Thursday is at the heart of the Tokyo Game Show, so they need to do it earlier. It could happen on Tuesday, which would be rare.”

He added: “The Direct, of course, was not officially announced, but they have been communicating with the partners about what happened during the last few days.

“This discussion happened at Nintendo of America, and then they had a full discussion with all the decision makers, mostly in Japan, and it doesn’t look like the plan has changed as they communicate with the associated publishers. independent developers and things like that.

“Based on that information, I’m pretty sure it will still happen early next week.”

Grubb alluded to the Delay in 2018 of an announced Nintendo Direct due to a major earthquake in Japan, which was later rescheduled, and said the company probably wanted to avoid a similar situation.

“They have a lot of partners who trust them to make announcements now,” he said. “The only other time they have made a delay in the past was due to the [2018] earthquake in Japan, and they delayed their Direct, and other partners said, ‘we still have to announce these games, we don’t have a choice.’ That is a disaster, and it seems that they wanted to avoid it.”

Wind Waker and Metroid Prime Nintendo Direct Reportedly Still Coming Next Week

GamesBeat Managing Editor Mike Minotti and Grubb previously stated that ports of Zelda and Metroid would be part of the next direct, and the latter said this weekend that he understands that this is still the case.

“We’ve heard that Zelda stuff will be there; the name of the next Zelda game and the HD ports of Wii U Zelda games. I hope that’s the case, it seems like it should be, that’s what we’ve heard.

“Also, the Metroid Prime HD remasters should come out this holiday so we should get that too, and then there’s things like Fire Emblem that are rumored and it seems like it makes a lot of sense, but I can’t confirm. and then things like USA announcing two are required.

“It should be a pretty robust Direct and I’m looking forward to it.

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker have already received the HD treatment on Wii U and are now among a handful of next-gen Nintendo games that have not been ported to the Wii U. Change.

Meanwhile, Metroid Prime remasters have reportedly been coming for years, with a well-known tipster claiming last November that Prime 1 remaster is now complete and ready to be released.
